Top things to do in Barcelona

Barcelona is a city that anyone and everyone can enjoy. This city definitely lives up to its reputation! What other city can offer a combination of a vibrant city and a beach life!? There are plenty of things to do in Barcelona for people of all ages. So much so that it may prove tough to pick and chose what to do in the time you have to spend there. Whether you enjoy taking strolls while seeing historical sights or shopping by day and partying by night... You will find what you are looking for in Barcelona! 


Visit Gaudí buildings

Antonio Gaudí was an architect who vastly influenced and contributed to Barcelona's modernist movement. His works of art can be found all throughout the city! 


Casa Milà
Popularly known as La Pedrera is one of Gaudí's modernist buildings. It used to be a residential property but is now open to the public for visits. It looks a lot more like a sculpture than a building.  



Casa Batalló

One of Gaudí's most known works in Barcelona. It is located in the center of the city. From the outside it looks like it has been made from colorful skulls and bones. They say Gaudí got his inspiration from marine life. 


Park Güell

This is a park where Antonio Gaudí's home is located. It is quite a hike to get up to the park but it is the perfect place to take a stroll while enjoying the outdoors and Gaudí's artwork. From the top of the hill you will also get a great view of the city. 




Sagrada Familia

This is the most famous of Gaudí's works. This church has been in construction for the past 123 years. It is just as beautiful from the outside as it is on the inside. So it is definetly worth it to take a tour of the inside. Be sure to purchase your tickets early on the website. Especially during the summer months there are extremely long lines. 



Las Ramblas

This is a famous street in central Barcelona. It cuts right through the heart of the city. This is often the first landmark that most tourists identify with the city. Here you will find a vibrant atmosphere filled with cafes, shops, and entertainers. Just beware this is also a popular spot for pick pockets. 







Boqueria Market

This is one of Europe's largest and most famous food markets. Make sure you come here hungry! Great food, all types of candy, and delicious fruit smoothies. You can access the market as you stroll the Ramblas as there is an entrance. 


Museu Picasso

If you like art and are interested in Picasso this is a place you must make time for. This museum houses one of the most extensive Picasso collections. Make sure you purchase your tickets online. There are usually long lines and space is limited. 


Magic Fountain of Montjuïc


The fountain is located in the Montijuïc neighborhood in Barcelona. The magic fountain is a spectacular display of color, light, motion, and music- it is a Must see! Grab a bottle of wine and snack and head to enjoy the show. The spring-summer schedule, which starts on 1 April, has shows on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 to 10.30 pm in April, May, September and October, andThursday to Sunday from 9.30 to 11 pm, in June, July and August.
